Repayment of Payday Loan: The Things You Should Remember

The payday loans prove to be of great help in times of emergency. The loan amounts obtained from payday lenders (companies) suitably meet the urgent unexpected cash requirements and save one from much worry and hassle. The repayment of these loans, however, needs to be carried out judiciously to make the entire endeavor a fruitful one.

Remember, the payday loans taken are usually to be repaid by the next payday i.e. by the next date of paycheck delivery. The standard repayment period is between 7 days and 18 days. The due date will be specified by the loan agreement you sign. There is always the option to make an early repayment i.e. before the due date.

It may be that you are unable to make the payment in full on the due date owing to some reason. This will usually pose no difficulty. Generally, there are several options for repayment and you can pay only the finance fee on the due date or pay the finance fee together with a portion of the loan amount. The remaining amount may be paid out on the subsequent payday. The loan representative usually highlights the details regarding the repayment options.

Prior to signing the deal it is advisable for you to go over the agreement thoroughly. There are two ways in which the payday loan repayment is taken from you by the lender. The lender will either debit your bank account or process a post dated check for the amount on your next payment. In case the check bounces then you will usually need to pay extra fees- the non-sufficient fund (NSF) fees.

To avoid such hassles what you need to do is ask the payday lender directly about the most inexpensive way for you to repay the payday loans. In case you are unable to meet the repayment amounts on the due date then you can make a frank admission to the lender stating that you need to work out arrangements to repay in installments and request the person or body acting as the lender for providing extended payment plans. In some States there is a legal provision that requires lenders to provide the extended payment plans. If at all the lenders refuse to co-operate then the Department of Financial Institutions of the concerned State may be approached to help in easing out the repayment schemes.

Always keep in mind that it is of prime importance to make the repayments as soon as possible. If needed by you may curtail your expenses on various heads of personal consumption to arrange for the necessary funds for repayment.

5 Things You Didn’t Know About The Government Small Business Loan In Canada – SBL Federal Loans Info

Can we ask you a simple question? Actually, if it’s ok with you, we’ll ask 5 questions, and we trust and hope you will gain some valuable knowledge about the Canada government small business loan. Federal loans under the CSBF / BIL program could be your secret weapon in Canadian business financing.

Ok, so let’s get the questions out of the way first and onward to those answers! Here are our 5 key shares around the program based on questions we continually get from clients.

Why should we finance equipment with federal SBL loans? What are the basic requirements of the program? Can the government small business loan be used to refinance business debt? Can we use the federal loans program for cash flow and working capital? And finally can we purchase a business via the SBL loan?

Great questions, and now hopefully some surprising answers! Here we go.

Equipment and lease financing in Canada are solid alternatives for the financing of your asset acquisitions. Numerous lease finance options are available, so why does it make sense to use the SBL program for equipment financing. For a start the small business loan program in Canada finances 90% of your equipment financing needs, the other 10% comes in the form of your down payment, which the program refers to as your equity in the transaction. Numerous lease scenarios may require either larger down payments, first and last monthly payments in advance, and in some cases might have a higher level of credit due diligence requirements .Equipment can be financing on terms up to 7 years, and typically that type of term may not be available through lease financing scenarios.

So what about those basic requirements of the program? The government small business loan requires the aforementioned 10% owner equity in your financing. Business owners and your business should have a reasonable credit history; you also should be ready to prepare a simple cash flow forecast that allows you to demonstrate repayment of the loan. Typically no other collateral is required for federal small business loans in Canada. We determined over time that it makes great sense to be able to properly demonstrate that you have sufficient management experience in your business and industry, whether you are a start up or an established firm.

On to our third question – can you utilize the loan to refinance existing debt .The short and simple answer is that any debt you wish to refinance in terms of equipment, leaseholds, software, real estate, etc can be financing within a 6 month window. Example – if you bought a major piece of equipment 5 months ago it can be refinanced under the program, bringing additional cash flow and capital into your business.

Can the program be used for cash flow and working capital? Simple answer = No! Unlike the U.S. equivalent of the program the government small business loan is massively understood by many, thinking it’s a cash flow loan. The program only funds equipment, leaseholds, and real estate.

And on to our final question. Can you purchase a whole business via SBL federal loans in Canada .Categorically yes if the business purchase is within the government loan cap you absolutely can purchase a company, competitor, franchise, etc using this program? Some very basic steps apply, including an appraisal of the business you are buying for example.

Well there you have it, 5 answers to common questions we get from clients everyday on Canadian government small business loan. Want more info, or wish to explore other issues pertaining to your financing needs around this great program? Seek and speak to a trusted, credible and experienced Canadian business financing advisor who can assist you in maximizing benefits of the program.

3 Things To Watch In The Federal Student Loan Consolidation Process

You can do the federal student loan consolidation only once, so it should follow a solid plan. Unfortunately the market includes companies, which try to sell you services against the fee, which should be free. Or companies which try to get sensitive information from you, like your credit score. This short article explains only the 3 most important things, which you should watch very carefully.

It is important to shop around to get the best result. The consolidated loan is a long term investment, so it is time well used, when you prepare the background information properly and ask offers from about twenty lenders. The market is tough for the lenders and it is a buyers market. This means simply better terms for the borrowers.

1. Does The Company Require Application Fee?

The federal student debt consolidation process should be free. The lenders are not allowed to charge a fee from you for the consolidation. They cannot even take account the credit history, when they define the terms of the consolidation. The consolidation, or the new loan, is not based on the credit history.

2. Does The Company Refuse To Consolidate With The Income Sensitive Repayment Plan?

This is very important for a person, who has not had any income in the history, because he has been studying. You must insist, that you want an income sensitive payment plan, which is based on your present ability to pay the loan, interests and other fees. If the lender refuses to give one, you have a good reason to change into another lender. You can also underline, that when you will concentrate all your loans into the one and same lender, you must get benefits.

3. Does The Company Insist, That You Consolidate With Your Spouse’s Loans?

It is important to keep the two loan separately. Your spouse should have his or her loans and you your own. Think about the situation, if you will meet a divorce and you should pay your spouses’s loans or one of you die. If they are the loans are consolidated as a one loan, the lender can insist that from the one, which has an ability to pay.

These terms do not sound so dramatically important, but actually they are. It is very important either to get the detailed information about the federal student debt consolidation process or to use an expert. Many small things have big influences in the future.

The sad thing would be, that when a person will notice, that there is a big error in the terms, he tries to change them but do not succeed. It can be the most expensive error in life. But there are always experts, who can help you.

Things You Need to Know Before Raising a Private Loan

A personal loan (consumer loan, private loan) could be an option, if you are short on money. But before you are raising a loan, you better learn about concepts like security, fees and interest rates.

So what is a consumer loan? A consumer loan is a loan taken by an individual. Normally the loans are raised to pay for some kind of buying expense (like a television or a vacation). But it can also be relevant to take a loan to pay other debt. If you raise a loan for a house, it is called a mortgage loan (and cannot be compared to a personal loan).

Loans can be borrowed from banks or individual lenders. While mortgage loans often will be paid back in 20 or 30 years, private loans are often paid back after half a year to five years.

You can use a house or a car as security; this is called a secured loan. But if you do not pay back the loan, you will lose the house or the car. Because the lender do not have to take a big risk, this kind of loan is cheaper than the unsecured loans. But you have the risk of losing the security asset.

If you cannot (or do not want to) supply any kind of security asset, you should raise an unsecured loan. In this case you will not lose your car or house, if you cannot pay. The lender takes a big risk with this kind of loan, so it is normally much more expensive. And it can be very difficult to raise a unsecured loan, if you have a bad credit history or if you are unemployed.

You have to consider the rate before choosing a specific loan. There is a lot of money to be saved, if you find a low interest rate. So look at the internet to compare the rates. And visit several banks to get the best price.

The interest rate do also depend upon how much you like to borrow and how long time you need to pay the amount back. So you have to clarify your needs to find out for how long time, you need the loan; if it is too short, if can get in trouble find the money, but if it is too long, you will pay too much in interests.

The total price of the loans is not only based on the interest rate. The loan charge will be another important part. And while the interest rate depends on the amount, the charge will normally be the same no matter how much you are borrowing. So rise on large loan instead of several small ones.

3 Things To Consider While Selecting The Right Financial Partner For Your Home Loan

Every housing finance expert will advise you to consider all the facets of even the best home loan really well before you accept the agreement. It totally makes sense to choose the right person as a co-applicant. Though, traditionally, co-applicants for home loans can either be married couples or blood relatives like siblings or parent-child. Here are three things you need to consider that will help you to identify the right financial partner for your house loan.

Will the co-applicant be a co-owner as well?

The legal aspect here is simple. At times, the banks and housing finance companies in India insist on having co-owners as co-borrowers. However, you can always include the right partner as the co-applicant for your housing loan without him being the co-owner in the property.

Who will pay the EMIs?

When it comes to home loans in India , open a joint or single account and use it to make payments via a cheque or ECS. That’s the technical part of it. When it comes to actual parts of the payments, it totally depends upon the understanding between the co-applicants. This is the most important factor while selecting the financial partner. However, lately, it has been a great advantage to have a woman as your co-owner and co-applicant as there is a considerable discount available for women borrowers. Although, it does require some due thought as whether the co-applicant is an earning member of the family and can make a dependable contribution towards the repayment.

Who will get the tax benefit?

Every co-applicant can enjoy tax benefit on the home loan repayment in terms of principal amount and interest. As per the section 24 of Income tax act, you can get tax benefit over the interest repaid. Additionally, as per section 80 (C) of the Income Tax Act, applicants and co-applicants will also get the tax benefit over the principal repaid. So it makes sense to include your earning wife/husband as a co-applicant; as they can also enjoy the tax benefit against their income; which lowers the investment and payment of tax for every fiscal year.

Nonetheless, personal and financial understanding while repaying the housing finance EMIs is of utmost importance. Though you know that you will certainly observe an increase in your home loan eligibility and get required support during the home loan approval process; at the end of the day, you can use a smart finance partner who can support you throughout the home loan tenure.

However, getting a loan modification approval can be very tough. Only one simple error on one of your forms can cause an immediate rejection. So whenever applying, it’s essential to know all the policies and regulations first. Be sure that you’re in regular contact with your mortgage lender as they review your application.

A part of the loan modification approval requires you to put together and submit a hardship letter. This letter is essential to the approval process. Very carefully construct the letter and declare all the important specifics in this letter. You will want to describe what caused you to get behind on payments and exactly why a loan modification could be valuable.

If you’re uncertain the way to go about the loan modification process, there are loan mod companies that can assist you. These expert services speak your lender’s language and have the experience and knowledge to ensure approval. Most services offer a free consultation, so make use of one right away.

3 Things A First Time Home Loan Applicant Must Be Aware Of

Home loan application processes are long and most first time applicants are not aware of all the aspects of a home loan. Before applying for such a loan it is crucial for the applicant to conduct their own research so that they understand the minute aspects of a home loan. This will help them not only in the application process but also during the repayment of the loan. There are however three things in particular that each home loan applicant must be aware of:

Home loan eligibility

Before one applies for a home loan with a financial institution it is important for the individual to check whether or not they are eligible for the loan amount they plan to apply for. Most financial institutions provide home loan eligibility calculators which allow individuals to check whether or not they are eligible for the loan they are applying for. In doing so, one reduces the risk of their application being rejected by any financial institution. The home loan eligibility calculator required individuals to put in their monthly income and the interest rate and tenure of their choice. Using this information the calculator will show how much loan amount the individual is eligible for based on their income.

Credit score

Credit score plays a major role in the deciding factor of whether or not the individual’s home loan application will be approved or not. An individual’s credit score provides the financial institution with information about their spending habits, past loans, credit cards owned and defaults which have occurred in the past on loans. A low credit score may force financial institutions to either reject the individual’s home loan application or reduce the loan amount being issued. However, to improve one’s home loan eligibility, one can take a number of steps to increase their credit score. Reducing monthly expenditure and the number of credit cards you own and repaying any outstanding loans can help boost your credit score.

Type of interest

Once the home loan application has been approved one of the biggest decisions any home loan applicant has to make is in regard to the type of interest to choose. Most financial institutions offer their home loan applicants with the choice between fixed and floating interest rate. While a fixed rate of interest offers more security, a floating interest rate can make the loan repayment an affordable option. Hence the decision lies with the individual and what their expectations are from the home loan.

All home loan applicants should be aware about the details of the loan to ensure that they are ale to get the most affordable home loan available.

4 Things You Should Know Before Taking an Education Loan

Remember when you were a kid and prayed fervently for the day to arrive when you would never again have to go to school? Now that you’re older, you might, in a move that would surely have shocked your 8-year-old self, actually want to prolong your days as a student–and even be willing to pay good money for it with the help of an education loan.

If you’ve been looking at course fees recently, we really don’t blame you for turning a ghastly shade of white. A year’s worth of tuition fees at a private school in Singapore can cost more than 10,000, and if you’re planning on going overseas, you’ll have to factor in the cost of living as well.
If you’re enrolling at a local public institution (like NUS, NTU and the like), your school probably offers a study loan. If you or your parents have CPF funds to spare, the CPF Education Scheme is also an option.

Otherwise, you’ll probably have to knock on the doors of banks and other financial institutions and see who will lend you money. Here are some things you must know:
1. Do You Qualify?

If you’ve been jobless for the past five years and have finally decided to further your studies so that your parents stop asking why you’re not employed, you’re might have a tough time getting a loan.
As a general rule, you will have to be at least 21 years old to get a study loan. Unfortunately, that’s the easiest requirement to fulfil.

The person who applies for the education loan will also have to have met a minimum income requirement, which depending on the loan and the bank can be from $ 12,000 to $ 30,000. Obviously, many students don’t have that kind of money.

This is where your parents come in–they can be your sponsors and apply for a loan if they fulfil the income requirements.

Actually, a sponsor doesn’t need to be a parent, and up to two sponsors can also apply for a loan to pay for your studies. So if you have a sugar daddy or sugar mummy (or two, even)… just saying.
Alternatively, you can nominate a guarantor, meaning the bank will come after this person if you don’t pay back the loan. The minimum income for guarantors is typically higher, at least 30,000 in most cases.
2. Interest Rate

This Fashion will always be cheaper than Louis Vuitton, just as Sheng Siong will always be cheaper than Jasons Supermarket.

But the same is not true of loan providers. Interest rates change all the time, and there is no such thing as a “premium” or “branded” education loan.

So you need to do your own research before you take out a loan instead of relying on other people’s out dated recommendations. Hint: you can do so right here on Money Smart!
3. What Type of Loan?

There are two main types of education loans, flat rate and monthly rest.

Don’t panic, it’s not as complicated as it sounds. Here’s what it all means:

*	Flat rate: they calculate the entire sum (or the sum for a certain number of years) of your interest payments at the start of the loan.

*	Monthly rest: interest is calculated based on reduced balances each month.
Monthly rest usually works out to be cheaper overall than fixed rate, but sometimes banks show both rates, so it’s important to find out what the loan package is really calculated on.
4. Paying Back Your Loan

The loan tenure–meaning the total duration of your loan–can differ wildly. Some loans are as short as 1 year, while others can stretch as long as ten years.

Different banks also offer various types of payment schemes. These can include the following:
*	Start paying your monthly instalments right after they disburse the loan
*	Pay only a fraction of the full instalments until your course ends (or within another timeframe)

*	Pay only the interest each month until your course ends (or within another timeframe)

*	Pay nothing until you have completed your course, after which monthly instalments will commence

5. What is The Prepayment Penalty?

If you try to pay off your loan earlier than expected, the bank will make you pay a prepayment penalty. Since people try to pay off their loans earlier in order to save on interest payments, banks usually try to claw back some of your savings by making you pay a penalty.
They might make you pay a certain amount, say 1% on the amount of either the original loan amount or the amount you want to prepay.

6. Are There Any Other Fees?

You usually need to pay a 2% processing fee, which is typically deducted from your first disbursement.
If you sign the letter of offer and then back out, you might be made to pay a cancellation fee, for example of 1% on the amount you have cancelled.

Depending on the mode of payment you choose for your instalments, there may also be disbursement fees involved. For example, if you opt to pay by cashier’s order or telegraphic transfer from overseas, you will need to pay the associated fees.

Looking to Refinance My Auto With a Lower Interest Rate – 5 Things to Watch Out For

Owning a car is not only a necessity these days – for many car owners it is also a great pleasure. It is a wonderful feeling to know that you can go anywhere you like at any time out on the open road.

Not only can a car be a pleasure to own, but it also represents a significant financial investment for its owner. Auto loan payments come due each month, which is fine when cash is readily available. However, as expenses get tighter for many people, sometimes the cash a person needs is not always readily available.

At times like this, the ability to save money on auto payments by refinancing one’s auto loan at a lower interest rate can be a very smart move. When refinancing a car at a lower interest rate, it is a win-win situation: there really is no downside. Sometimes, there are closing costs to pay, but as long as you are planning to hold onto your car for a while longer before selling it, the closing costs should easily be offset by your savings in interest payments.

Some people unfortunately walk blindly into an auto refinance situation without really knowing some of the pitfalls that they could walk into. It is a smart idea to learn all of the ins and outs of car refinancing before taking that step.

If you are saying to yourself, “I’m looking to refinance my auto with a lower interest rate,” here are 5 things to watch out for:

1. Do not refinance your auto if it is worth less than you owe on your current auto loan:
You will probably not be able to refinance your auto if it is worth less than the amount you owe on your existing loan. However, the lender may be able to make an exception if you are able to come up with the difference in cash.

2. Watch out for how interest rates are trending:
Average interest rates on auto loans are always going up and down. Take a look at rates over the last one-year and three-year periods to see where they are right now. If they are relatively low, this could be a good time to refinance.

3. Make sure your credit score is the same or better than it was when you took out your existing loan:
If your credit score is the same or has gotten better since you took our your current loan, that could also be a good sign that you should refinance now.

4. Avoid refinancing with your existing lender without checking with others first:
It will be easy to ask your current lender for an auto refinance loan, but it makes sense to ask your current lender last. Instead, get quotes from other lenders first. Then, go back to your existing auto lender to see if they can beat your best offer.

5. Watch out for the higher total interest paid that would come with extending your loan term:
In addition to qualifying for a lower interest rate, another way to reduce your future payments through refinancing is to qualify for a loan with a longer repayment period. The more time over which you spread out your loan, the lower your monthly payment amount will be. However, at the same time, you will end up paying much more in total interest costs over the life of the loan.

Watch out for these 5 things as you look to refinance your auto with a lower interest rate.
